Silky F180 Folding Saws
The Silky F180 Folding Saws are a large tooth saw. Like all Silky saws, the F180 is designed to cut on the pull stroke. They have a hollow ground blade, which reduces friction when cutting. This allows the cutting stroke to feel very easy and fast.
The Silky F180 Folding Saws teeth are not set, they are what Silky calls a Mirai-Me tooth style. This style of tooth creates a very smooth cut which leaves the branch so smooth that it will appear as though it has been given a light sand. This benefits the tree by reducing the chance of water and bacteria sitting on groves in the timber therefore allowing infection into the wound. This style of tooth also cuts a larger hole in the timber than the width of the blade, therefore reducing the chance of the blade jamming in the cut.
The blades consist of a special steel that is not only exceptionally strong but also remarkably flexible, a crucial attribute for a hand saw. The blades also have a special coating to give them some protection from rust and resin.

Also, I own a tree service, and my crew will each have their own. It’s like a miniature of the hand pruning saws we use, which are amazing. I love that it folds!”

Sandie C62 on Amazon says: “Great Backpacking Camp Saw – I earned the trail name Camp Saw due to this little life saver. A backpacking trip turned cold and rainy, but this saw made short order of some pretty large branches and logs, we had a roaring fire when everyone else had twigs. Well worth the 5.7 ounce carry, anytime we overnight it to an area allowing fires, this baby has a guaranteed spot in my pack. No sheath necessary, folds up with no exposed blade to damage other items. PS: you pull the saw to cut, if you push the blade will snap”
